In Ohio, the #1 university for student experience is Bowling Green State University, according to The Wall Street Journal. U.S. News and World Report ranks BGSU as a top-tier university. The mascot for BGSU is the falcon, and some falcons FLY in their own unique ways.
The FLY Program at BGSU, which stands for Falcons Learning Your Way, offers academic support for students with ADHD, learning differences, and executive function challenges. FLY students get support to:
- Learn self-advocacy and time management
- Develop organizational skills and learning strategies
- Manage executive functioning challenges
- Create meaningful campus relationships with classmates and professors
- Connect with on-campus resources and opportunities
- Enjoy the ultimate university experience
“About 265 students at BGSU use FLY services,” according to Dr. Travis Brown, Director of the Learning Commons and Fly Program. Students meet one-on-one weekly with a Learning Specialist, who provides assistance not only on academic skills but also helps motivate students. “Students also gain help from ambassadors, students who are either in or graduated from the program,” according to Brown.
